[Belladonna puts an arm around his back, encouraging him to lean against her as much as he can. All her movements are full of an extra sort of care, and it isn't until she's sure that she has him steady against her in an upright position that she works on getting them both standing.]

[Did she already plan on sitting by his bedside and nursing him back to health? Absolutely, she did.]

(He'll be damned if he shows up like this to his - not when there's Kaiba, and Izaya refuses to show him any speck of weakness when he already was getting in a battle of wits with him upon their first meeting.

As long as he needs her, hm? God, it's frightening how much she trusts him. The steps he takes are short, he'll have to lean at times and even grip when the floor feels unstable and unlevelled. Eventually, they'll arrive.)

(Spinning, spinning, spinning. It's almost the equivalent of being drunk, and Izaya is not rather fond of anything that takes him out of his sharpness. Fair to say, he hates this profusely, but lying down does help the world to stop turning after a while.

There's warmness atop of his icy hand, and another of his own rests on it, seeking warmth.)

[It's a weak admonishment, full of pain. That he could've gone through something so horrible and still think of her well being? It breaks her heart. She doesn't deserve it. She brings her other hand over, shifting so she can cup them both in his, willing warmth from her fingertips into his.]

I can rest later, when I know you're less likely to faint.

(A near-death Izaya is still Izaya at the end of the day, and she gets a gaze from the corners of his eyes and he fights the desire to sit up, but not the desire to break that information apart.)

Stop what, Bella-chan?

(What's behind it? Self-worth issues again? That one, Izaya knows that she reeks of. Unwanted by her coven, too good to mingle with her own kind, of course, she hates herself deeply. Perfect thing to exploit, really.)

I'll be fine. I'd invite you to lay down with me, but I don't want you to get more blood on your clothes.

(Just checking to see if she snaps at him again.)

[As to what she wants him to stop, she doesn't give a particularly revealing answer, smiling softly as she tells him:]

I told you, you need to conserve your energy.

[She hesitates, then, only for the knowledge that she's never laid beside a man before. But the body heat would be nice for him, she's sure, and she wouldn't mind the break. It's not like this is anything inappropriate. So, Belladonna shifts, careful not to jostle him as she lays down, head beside his on her pillow.]

Clothes can always be replaced.

(Gentle snapping. He'll take it.

He's not in pain anymore, or else the shaking of the bed, while she lays her small body next to his, would most likely be welcomed with a sharp sting. It just makes him sigh a little, an arm bringing her closer as to lay her head on his chest.)

[This is a medical emergency! And yet, despite that, she still find her heart starting to race when he encourages her to lay against him, instead of simply at his side. The only natural thing to do with her head on his chest is to put an arm around him, as well, and when she goes to speak again, she stammers.

(Bingo. Izaya gets what he wants, always! He's well trained to hear and perceive any small changes in behavior, and he can hear her little heart thumping against him. Admittedly, he doesn't tend to go this route - romantic and feelings and what-not. There's the distance that he puts between him and his pawns but in this case? Such distance would prove less advantageous in the long run, he's assessed. After all, she was willing to go through all this trouble to impress a man, wasn't she, back at home?

Just how far is she willing to go if he gives her a little more than attention? Hence, here they are, with Izaya caressing her shoulder as he hums, free index finger drawing in the air as if he was conducting an orchestra only he could hear.)

[It would be useful to read up on the language of color, but it isn't something she's taken any time to do as of yet. Belladonna tilts her head up toward him, wanting to watch him talk more than just listen.]

(He tries to move -- it's a bad idea. He'll see the world rotate again, which gets him to breathe in and fucking stay put for a goddamn moment. Nothing that Izaya is particularly fond of, but alas.)

Black is a misunderstood color, don't you think? People think it alludes to darkness, but it can also mean elegance and authority. Does that mean people correlate authority to darkness, even while alluring and elegant? I'm not sure. I don't think it's a fair picture at all.

[Finally, as if after the clearing of a storm, Bella's sunshine smile peaks through the abysmal mood his injury had put her in.]

(He'll gently sit up, beckoning her to do the same with him while keeping the girl against his chest. He'll do fine with the dizziness while it happens, he just needs to move a little bit.

(Considering that he was soaked, his steps carried the blood, and he's still dripping a little on her bedsheets.)

[They sure as fuck did. Belladonna had all but forced herself to ignore the cold, somewhat sticky sensation of the blood soaking into her clothes and bedding...but at the acknowledgement of it, she laughs.]

[Maybe she can just magic herself some new ones, who knows.]

Izaya takes a moment to remove his jacket, assessing the damage on the fabric for a second, most most of his attention is centered on her, catching glimpses when her own is not on him.)

Stabbed? That's horrible!

[Bella, of course, is a wannabe agent of chaos, but her idea of mayhem doesn't necessarily involve outright violence, so the idea shocks her, and her own hands begin to wring as she (thinks) his attention is focused elsewhere.]

Even being treated like that...you still love humans?

[Truly, his heart is bigger than anyone's she's known before!]

Of course. It's what I do, I love humanity, even when it's dark, doomed or outright violent. It's only a small part of it, after all!

(He just does not promise that his love will not match in kind. She'll probably snap at him, but Izaya grips on the bedpost to get to his feet.

He's feeling a little better, at least. The spins have lessened in intensity he finds, and he sighs as he glances towards the holes on his shirt.)
